Though there are lots of methods that are available for people that have milder scarring from acne, there aren’t as many options for those who have the deep, pitted scars called ice-pick scars. These scars are deep and catch the shadows so they are far more conspicuous. They are tough to cover since they’re so deep and are thus regularly the impetus to find the treatment which will help to smooth them out of the skin. There are acne scar removal methods that are all very painful and generally need to be coupled with other natural acne scar treatments so that the milder scars around the deep ones can be smoothed out too. The acne scar removal treatments are just what they sound like. The deep scars are removed surgically and the skin that remains is stitched back together to form a smaller, smoother scar.

Better Ways?

The Acne Scar Treatment doesn’t sound as if it would be effective ; however , the scar that remains is less conspicuous and better to cover than the deep, ice-pick scar that was once there. There are more methods besides the acne scar removal treatment that can be used, for example punch elevation. In the punch elevation method, not like the acne scar removal treatment, only the bottom of the scar is cut away from the skin that’s holding it at the base. In this manner, the base of the scar can be raised to the outer surface of the skin where it is held with a strip or glue until it heals at surface level. This method can become successful if the sides of the pitted scar are flat so that the finished look will be as smooth as possible.

Another sort of method that’s used in the place of the acne scar removal treatment is that of fillers. In this method, the scarring are filled in by trying a filling agent that is made of silicone or other material. In this manner, the skin is raised up to the level of the other skin and the scar is not very noticeable any longer. In all of these techniques , however , the person will need to take time off work to heal. The last strategy will cause the least time to recover but the others will usually need a week to heal. The acne scar removal treatment will also require about that amount of time to heal as does the punch method.

So as you can see there are several ways to tackle the issue of acne scarring, some ways will work really well for you while there may be others, though they may work really well for others, will not. Making a choice on which type of treatment to choose is a very personal one and you may even discover that you will have to try several ways of tackling the problem before you find the one that is the best for you. The important thing is to keep on trying, don’t just continue to suffer with it, make a move and you may find that it is easier to get some relief than you thought.
