Eight highly effective natural acne solutions for vibrant, blemish-free skin!
Almost every teen suffers from acne, to some degree, during this period of adolescence, rife with unbalanced hormone levels and poor dietary habits. When I was a teen, you couldn’t drag me out of the house if there was a spot of acne, much less a raft of them!
Today, we know a lot more about acne skin care than in my time. Along with a bit of dietary advice, I’d like to share eight highly effective natural acne treatments that will bring radical improvements to your skin.
You’ll no longer need to envy those with clear, healthy complexions. You’ll have such a complexion too!
First, we’ll touch on the basics of good skin cleansing, which helps keep acne in check. Acne is the result of over active sebaceous glands, producing more oil than you need on your skin. To keep your skin clean, without drying it too much, wash your skin twice a day, with warm – not hot – water and your choice of oatmeal, aloe or glycerin soaps.
You can alternate between them as well. Rinse throughly and then apply a mild astringent, such as witch hazel, to close the pores. If you wish, use one of the new creams which cover up any active acne spots, but it’s best to avoid makeup, which clogs your pores and just makes things worse.
Now on to diet. A good diet is one of the best natural cures for acne you’ll find. Avoid oily, fried and fatty food choices like the plague. Cram your diet with lean meats and fruits and vegetables.
You can’t overdo the produce!
Packed with skin nourishing and healing nutrients, such as vitamins A, C, and E, as well as the trace mineral zinc, that produce will work wonders in preventing and eliminating acne, but you’ve got to practice these diet choices all the time, for best effect. BTW, many kids with acne also suffer from chronic constipation, which allows toxins to build up in your system and eventually show up in acne!
The fiber content of produce acts like a broom on your digestive system, sweeping those toxins out and eliminating constipation. When making salad dressings, stick with vinaigrettes made with olive oil.
Sunflower seeds are known to be anti-acne. Take a lecithin supplement, which is shown to be effective in clearing acne and also aids in the assimilation of vitamins A and E.
Now, let’s get to our 8 natural acne cures.
1. Use a sterilized needle to make a hole in a vitamin E gel capsule. Apply directly to the acne. Vitamin E will even remove scars over time. A great skin healer and home remedy for acne.
2. Burdock root is one of the most powerful blood cleansers and herbal acne treatment known to herbal medicine. Take 2 capsules, 3-4 times a day (available at any health food store) for 10 days. Give it several days rest and repeat.
3. Use the yolk of an egg, separated from the white, and apply directly to your face. Rinse off after 15 minutes. Repeat 2-3 times a week.
4. Got any over ripe tomatoes in the frig? Make a paste and apply to trouble spots. Leave it on for an hour and then rinse off.
5. Another easy, but powerful natural acne remedy that tastes great: drink an 8-ounce glass of wheat grass juice daily.
6. Aloe vera gel (available at drugstores), applied to the skin on a daily basis, is a terrific home remedy for acne, fighting outbreaks and healing scars.
7. Make a 50-50 solution of rose water and lime juice. Apply nightly, after your skin cleansing.
8. Our last natural remedy for acne may seem a bit unorthodox, but it’s potent medicine against acne. Ask your druggist for ‘black ointment’. It comes in a tube and is quite economical.
It’s an old time eclectic physician’s concoction made with herbs. It’s so powerful, it will cure boils in no time. Apply directly.
So there you have it. Use all of these home remedies for acne and you’ll have an enviable complexion!
